Adult Class ( Ages 18+ and All Skill Levels )
The Adult Program will focus on the fundamentals of art and design. The students will be encouraged to get their initial drawing right while considering composition, proportions, scaling and the proper way to start a work. Various mediums will be utilized such as colored pencils, watercolor, soft/oil pastels and acrylic paint. The instructor will show students different techniques to use for each medium. We will explore art styles from the old masters to modern and contemporary design, while completing projects that exhibit the skills and styles covered in the adult program.
Students will be shown how to plan their work to increase efficiency in their process. A list of potential subject matter will be available for the students to choose from but will be allowed to introduce their own images/ideas for reference.
Along with technical application, students will be urged to create a narrative to support their work. We will talk about the importance of meaning in artwork and why that is relevant.
