Multimedia Techniques ( Grades 4-12 )





Multimedia Techniques will expose students to new drawing & painting materials, while gradually helping them develop more personalized, and creative concepts for their art.

Students will be introduced to specific art mediums that will be introduced through small activities throughout the year. All these lessons revolve around technical-steps guided by the teacher. Students will be working on personal artwork whie taking pauses to complete these small studies. The student’s larger work will be more independent and personal, students will be given a chance to research and pull references for these projects, while learning the technical skills that will be used to complete their work in a more refined way. Multimedia Techniques is a training course geared to introduce essential techniques to help students gain efficiency, and understand how their art materials should be used.

MATERIALS:
  • Graphite pencils, Crayola and Prismacolor pencils, sharpie pens, ink pens, watercolor paints, tempera paints, oil pastels.

GOALS:
  • Students will follow guided lessons on art fundamentals, with a variety of art materials. They will learn how these materials work, and how they can become confident and skilled to use them efficiently first. Students will then have more fun afterwards, creating their own project prompts to test out the skills they learned, with more personal ideas and imagination. The goal is to learn specific techniques/skills first, and then use them in their personalized creative projects.
